What is your role at CCC? Worship Pastor
What do you do at CCC? Oversee the various elements of the worship/arts ministry.
How and when did you come to CCC? My wife, Ruth, had been attending CCC for several years prior to our marriage. We went through marriage counseling with her pastor, Jon Miklas, and his wife Christine and through that time of interaction I was invited to serve as an intern here at CCC. We began attending CCC during the summer of 1999, and I started my internship in September of 1999.
What is your educational and ministry background?
Education: B.S in Bible with a professional certificate in Music Ministry from Lancaster Bible College
Ministry: Pastoral intern at Cocalico Community Chapel 1999-2001
Worship Pastor at Cocalico Community Chapel 2001-
Tell me about your spiritual journey – how did you become a follower of Christ? I accepted Jesus as my Savior at the age of 5. My parents were involved in ministry so I was exposed to the concept of salvation quite often as a child. One morning in a conversation with my mom on our front porch while she was painting, I asked her how I could have Jesus come into my heart. She explained the salvation plan to me and I prayed with her to accept Jesus as my Savior.
What is your favorite section of the Bible? My favorite passage is Psalms 103
What kind of music do you listen to? Jazz and Contemporary Christian Music primarily, but I enjoy a variety of music.
What is your favorite thing to do, beside serving at CCC? Spending time with my family. I also enjoy making music with family and friends, hunting, and water sports.
Tell us about your family My lovely wife, Ruth, and I have been married since May 15, 1999. She is my first and only sweetheart and we met in college where I was able to win her heart with many romantic endeavors. We now have two beautiful children, Adalie, born on March 23, 2000 and Andrew, born on January 30, 2002. Adalie is growing into quite the little lady. She enjoys “helping" mommy around the house and helping with her little brother Andrew. She is a big Winnie the Pooh fan and enjoys watching videos when ever mom and dad allow. Andrew is unquestionably a boy. He is loud, destructive, daring, and able to beat up his big sister quite easily. He loves big trucks and machinery, and gets excited every time we drive through a construction zone.
What is your dream for CCC? My dream is to see CCC continue to grow in the way we have since our beginning. I desire to see us develop into a ministry that becomes a greater and greater force for advancing the Kingdom of God in our community and around the world through a vital small group ministry that promotes spiritual growth, godly living, and the extension of God's love to each other and to those who do not know God. I desire to see these small groups and our entire ministry cultivate an environment where people are encouraged and exhorted to follow God's Word and the leading of His Spirit, committing their lives and resources wholly to building His Kingdom-seeing people find Christ and mature in their faith. I dream of CCC as a place where people are equipped to serve God and given opportunities to do so, all of this being fueled through a relentless commitment to seeking God in prayer..
